OK! magazine spoke with Raven-Symone in a Q&A and asked the singer/actress why she’s not going out all every night like other young Hollywood starlets. “First of all, I’m a total homebody,” she responded. “One of my New Year’s Resolutions is to get out more and be more spontaneous because I can be such a hermit crab. I don’t really walk down the street that much. I can totally just stya in my house, and then when I go outside, I’m usually in sweats and flip-flops.”

Allison Samuels of Newsweek profiled Raven Symone and how the singer/actress hasn’t gotten the attention given to other teen queens like Hilary Duff or Lindsay Lohan. Symone said of her 19th birthday: “It was so sad. I mean, I was dressed up and ready to party and not one flash went off. Pop Singer Is The Prize
February 22, 2005 - Annemarie Moody of The Arizona Republic was on hand as Vanessa Carlton performed a free show for Red Mountain students on February 16th. The concert was the prize in a Channel One News cable TV community improvement contest won by Red Mountain’s Reading Is Fundamental program, a reading promotion that involves high school students reading to younger kids and providing books for underprivileged schools. “It’s fantastic to be involved,” Carlton, 24, told Moody after performing. “It’s important for young people to realize they’re very powerful, and that they can make a difference.”

The Associated Press caught up with Raven Symone and asked the actress/singer if she thinks she gets her fair share of love from the media as opposed to rival teen queens Hilary Duff and Lindsay Lohan. “I know every time Lindsay goes to the bathroom and I’m like, ‘I don’t want to know’,” Symone said. “I’m fine with my press. I don’t want to be in the press all the time because 1) you get sick of the person faster and 2) I don’t want y’all in my business.”
