Robyn ‘Dream On’ Video Behind The Scenes

Robyn posted behind the scenes footage from the set of her ‘Dream On’ music video in New York City on her label’s YouTube channel.

The Swedish pop singer says in the clip, “It’s a song for everyone. I think a lot of people recognize themselves in the lyrics. I guess the video is based on how we judge other people.”

“I like New York. I spend a lot of time here as a kid, so it’s an important place for me. I love being here,” Robyn said about the music video location.

Robyn ‘Be Mine’ Acoustic Performance

Robyn posted an acoustic version of her song ‘Be Mine’, filmed at Cherrytree Records headquarters in Los Angeles. The track comes off the Swedish pop singer’s self-titled fourth album.

“It was so crazy,” Robyn said about her red carpet walk at an unspecified awards show. “I had this one dude asking me, I had the bird and he’s like, ‘What’s that? Is that a dove or a pigeon?’ I’m like no, it’s a robin. ‘Have you made the bird yourself?’ Like I was a kid. I was like no. ‘Oh, so what does your bird eat?’ That’s a weird question. It drinks champagne on ice.”

Asked whether she was there when her award was announced, Robyn confessed, “I messed up. I was gonna go to the ladies room, so I asked Martin do you think I’ll have time to go? He was like yeah, you’ll be fine. So I walked off to the bathroom, came back and the makeup girl Kate was like, ‘They just announced that you didn’t win.’ I was like what? She said, ‘Yeah I ran after you. I tried to find you.’ So I wasn’t there but that was good, you know. I just didn’t have to go through that whole thing of am I getting it or not, so it was good.”

Robyn posted the following bulletin to fans on her MySpace on Monday (August 13):

Hey Everyone,

Well…we made it

With every heartbeat is the official Uk number 1- I’m so happy

It entered the chart at number 5 last week on downloads alone and I beat both Timbaland and Kanye West to the top so thanks a million friends

I’ve also been added to v festival!

And my album was re-released today with some extra tracks on there just for you!

Thank you all of you!

Robin also wrote on her blog at MySpace on Monday:

A number 1 on the UK single chart feels great! “With every heartbeat” seems to be one of those records that just found it’s way into peoples hearts and I’m happy and amazed by the response from radio and fans just embracing the song. For a song without a chorus and with a big chunk of dramatic strings on it, it’s done quite well. Kleerup and I are exited about this being the one that gets to the top. I’m really enjoying this moment. Konichiwa Bitches!

Robyn Q&A

Popjustice.com caught up with Robyn for a Q&A, where she was asked about writing more songs for people like ‘Swedish Idol’ star Darin Zanyar. “I don’t write for other people on purpose, it’s just that sometimes it happens,” she said. “Sometimes I will write a song and not record it and someone else will – actually that’s my publisher’s job. I don’t even know how it happens. Sometimes someone will phone and say ‘can I use your song?’ and I will say ‘Who are you?’. And then we sort it out. When I wrote ‘With Every Heartbeat’ I wrote the lyrics about Kleerup breaking up with his girlfriend. I borrowed his life and wrote a really sad song then I had to double check with him that it was alright because I’d used him.” Read more.
