Matt Giraud Addresses Justin Timberlake Comparisons
The latest ‘American Idol’ finalist to get the boot, Matt Giraud, answered a question from a MySpace fan, asking the singer if he’s been compared to Justin Timberlake before ‘Idol’.
“I was compared,” Matt said. “So when I came on the show I wanted to stay away from that as much as possible… I wanted to focus on trying to be me, so I got on the piano and did some ballads, and then towards the end, I was like ‘Maybe I should start dancing.'”

Anoop Discusses His Post ‘American Idol’ Plans
April 29, 2009 - Ousted ‘American Idol’ finalist Anoop Desai talked with TV Guide’s ‘After Idol’ about the artists he wants to team up with, what he said to Allison Iraheta before being voted off, and not having plans to go back to grad school until he makes an effort to get a record deal and make an album. “I see myself in that pop/R&B genre, and I think I have the type of voice to be successful in that genre,” Desai said. “I’m looking forward to that. I’m looking forward to meeting with labels, writers, producers.” The interview video at YouTube has since been removed.
Scott McIntyre Plays ‘Name That Celebrity’
April 24, 2009 - On Thursday night’s ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’, Uncle Frank and Yehya squared off in a game of ‘Name That Celebrity’ with special guest Scott McIntyre. The visually impaired singer, who did surprisingly well at naming celebrities based on a photo he couldn’t see, was later joined by a fellow ousted ‘American Idol’ finalist, Megan Joy, who was the mystery celebrity during the game. April 17, 2009 - ‘American Idol’ castoff Scott MacIntyre stopped by People magazine, answering reader questions about his plans for the rest of 2009, wanting to title his album ‘A View From Above’, how ‘Keep The Faith’ was his favorite song to perform on ‘Idol’, not viewing his visual impairment as a disadvantage, the advice he has for the remaining contestants, and he did his best Randy Jackson impression.
