Maxim Special Pulled From Atlanta NBC Affiliate
Tonight’s Maxim magazine special on NBC celebrating their ‘Maxim’s Hottest 100’ list won’t be seen on Atlanta affiliate WXIA. The list featured Christina Aguilera, Kelly Clarkson, Britney Spears, t.A.T.u., Jennifer Lopez, Avril Lavigne, Kylie Minogue, Shakira, and Jessica Simpson.
“We didn’t feel it was appropriate,” WXIA station manager Bob Walker tells The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “It’s not consistent with NBC’s emphasis on quality programming.”
They’ll instead have a show on local football teams, the Atlanta Falcons and a half-hour special on the University of Georgia SEC championship football team.
Jessica Simpson Talks Album, Nick & Reality Show
June 12, 2003 - Jessica Simpson spoke with WTEV about her new album, TV reality show with hubby Nick Lachey of 98 Degrees, and life as a superstar. Jess says a lot of the writing on her new album came from poetry in the journals she keeps. She added that she’d love to be able to tour together with Nick. Video has since been removed.

First of all [Nick Lachey of 98 Degrees] was there but he didn’t talk. Jess said he was still tired! Haha! She said she hates her middle name ‘Ann’ because its such a southern name and everyone has it! The DJ called her Mrs. ‘Lackey’ Simpson and she goes no its Mrs. Simpson Lachey! Nick wouldn’t like the other way cuz it’s not his name and I’m married to a Lachey NOT a Simpson! The DJ also asked her what she thought of Nick naked! She made a cute sound and was kind of astonished! She goes ‘are you serious?’ She said he was gorgeous! Haha! Jess will not have kids until she gets a dog and learns how to take care of a dog! lol! Well, it was cute!”

May 30, 2003 - ESPN magazine asked Jessica Simpson and other celebs about their dreams of sporting glory. “I’d be a gymnast,” Simpson said. “It looks so exhilarating. Or maybe I’d just be the wife of a sports guy. Players always look really cute in their little baseball outfits. I like football players too, but some of them are a little too stocky. And I’d never marry a curler!”
