*NSYNC Searches Large In January
March 11, 2002 - While *NSYNC remains the most searched for boy band on the internet on pay-per search engine Overture.com during the month of January, their once dominance of all of their male musical peers has eroded. Now stars like Lil’ Bow Wow, Ja Rule, and Linkin Park are enjoying more searches than the group. The term ‘n sync’ and the most common name variants received 294,724 searches for the month, while the group’s most searched for songs included their latest ones, ‘Girlfriend’ with 3,957 searches and ‘Gone’ with 2,123. Some of their detractor’s names like ‘NSUCK’ and ‘NSTINK’ also received some search interest.
Celebrity 2002 Tour ‘Interesting Listen For Everyone’
March 10, 2002 - Sarah Quelland of Metroactive.com spoke with the guys from *NSYNC, including JC Chasez who explained the “very raw show.” JC said, “We’ve gone out of our way to do different things to the music to change it up so it will be an interesting listen for everyone.”
Justin Timberlake Exuded Star Power At Wednesday’s Concert
March 8, 2002 - Chad Jones of the Oakland Tribune reviewed *NSYNC’s concert at the Oakland Arena on Wednesday and was impressed with the guy’s Beatles and Motown tributes. As for Justin Timberlake, he wrote, “He’s got the best voice, the sharpest moves and the most noticeable increase in crowd scream decibels. He’s destined for bigger, most likely solo, things. This was clear when he sang “Gone” pretty much by himself. But for the most part, he’s still a team player who frequently relinquishes his center spot - and spotlight - to his bandmates.”
*NSYNC Hit Larry Flynt’s Hustler Club
March 8, 2002 - Rob Morse of the San Francisco Chronicle reports three of the guys from *NSYNC (who were not named, but didn’t include Justin Timberlake) were spotted at Larry Flynt’s Hustler Club in North Beach on Tuesday night. The trio hung out in the club’s VIP room for 3 1/2 hours where they “got a little wild and sang to the waitresses in.” They also offered to buy a $1000 lapdance from a non-dancer, but she (assuming that the person was a she anyways) turned them down.
*NSYNC Tries To Keep Each Show Special
March 7, 2002 - Marian Liu of the San Jose Mercury News reported still more excerpts from *NSYNC’s recent telephone press conference as the group is in the area this week for shows in Northern California. While this early into the show stagnation wouldn’t be a problem, Chris Kirkpatrick says it never is for the group. “Some kids got their tickets three months before and every day mark on a calendar,” he said. “So with us doing a show every night, we can’t get stagnant. We can’t go, ‘Well, we just did one last night. Let’s go easy on this show tonight.'”
BoyBands that take that long a break most likely won’t return especially if Justin’s album
does well. The Justin+Britney breakup stuff was probably thrown out there to sweep this under the rug from NSYNC fans. The J+B denial, and this major news all comes in the same day is just to convenient.
You know I love Nsync and everything and I’m going to be sad to see them go for 8 months, but they DO deserve a beak. They have been working ALOT in the past and they should take a break. I HOWEVER, do not think that this means they are splitting up. I think they CAN come back from this because they are friends. They all have their projects as well, so its not like they will be truly gone. :)
Now if only Justin would say something. I am kidding… at finally someone answered the question.
Finally someone had the guts to say this.
I hope everyone is happy now that one of the 2 boy bands is breaking up, the 8 months break is a pathetic lie because they’re still on tour.
I hope everyone is happy that the Timberlake era is officially started, now enjoy his lame, disgusting persona for eternity.
