Smash Hits Denies Ben Adams Fix
Smash Hits responded to reports earlier this month from News of the World stating members of Westlife being furious that a1’s Ben Adams won the Most Fanciable Male award when it reportedly had already been promised to Westlife’s Shane Filan.
Said Smash Hits magazine editor, Emma Jones in a statement on the magazine’s official site:
“You may have seen a newspaper article claiming that the Most Fanciable Male Award in the Smash Hits Poll was rigged. If the paper in question had bothered to call us we could have explained that there’s no truth whatsoever in the allegation. All the votes in the poll, from the website and the magazine, were counted fairly and the award went to the winner, Ben from A1. Thanks to the millions of you who voted. All of us here at Smash Hits hope you really enjoyed the two TV shows on Channel 4.”
