Daniel Powter Readies CD/DVD Debut Album Reissue

Daniel Powter spoke with AOL Music about the deluxe CD/DVD edition of his self-titled debut album, featuring the new song ‘Love You Lately’, due out November 7th. Asked about recording the effort at Capitol’s famed A & B studios, where legendary crooners like Frank Sinatra once recorded, Powter responded, “Oh, God! Just being there [was amazing]. They changed the whole set — made the backdrop all white, with white shag carpets and white pianos and white drums. Everything was white.”

Daniel Powter Signs Song Publishing Deal

Reuters reports Daniel Powter has signed a North American publishing deal with Famous Music, the company said. Under the pact, Viacom Inc.-owned Famous will administer Powter’s copyrights, exploiting his compositions and collecting royalties on his behalf.

Daniel Powter Still Enjoys Performing ‘Bad Day’

Daniel Powter tells AOL Music he’s not tired of playing his breakout hit ‘Bad Day’ even though he’s been performing the track across the world for about two years. “I’m not sick of it,” Powter said. “If you ask me if I’m going to go to my piano across the room and sit down and play ‘Bad Day,’ probably not. But I still like playing it live, because people participate and get you going.”

OK! magazine caught up with Daniel Powter for a Q&A and asked the chart-topper why he always is wearing a cap. “I wear it to hide a scar on my head I got when I was hit by a car 12 years ago,” he revealed. “It also acts as a security blanket; it’s something I can hide behind. I have about 30 caps in my wardrobe and I buy them all - I don’t have an exclusive deal with Kangol!”
