Haley Scarnato Q&A With People

‘American Idol’ castoff Haley Scarnato spoke with People magazine after being voted off the hit show on Wednesday night. Asked if was true that she got last season’s runner-up Katharine McPhee’s old hair extensions, the 24-year-old responded, “Yes, that is true. I think it’s cool. They can wash them, so it’s fun. I think it’s cool to wear the hair extensions of Katharine McPhee. She’s Katharine McPhee!” As for how it was being able to work with Jennifer Lopez this week, Scarnato gushed, “She was great, she was so helpful. She was very warm and comforting. You could tell she really wanted to help us. She was so down-to-earth and I think everyone felt that way about her. I got to spend about 10 minutes with her. It was a great experience to hammer out the song and stuff.” Read more.

April 12, 2007 - Haley Scarnato of San Antonio was sent home during last night’s ‘American Idol’ when she scored the fewest votes among viewers of the FOX hit. Host Ryan Seacrest said the more than 35 million votes cast represented the season’s highest tally. “Haley heads home tonight on ‘American Idol’,” said Seacrest, announcing the result on the live broadcast.

April 10, 2007 - Our previous poll asking who do you think will win ‘American Idol’ saw Melinda Doolittle receive 35.1% of the vote, enough to easily beat out Blake Lewis in the #2 spot, who got 21.2% of the votes. Lakisha Jones came in at #3 with 17.6% of the vote, while Sanjaya Malakar got 8.6%, followed by Chris Richardson at 7.7% and Jordin Sparks at 7.5%.

April 9, 2007 - ‘The Hills’ star Lauren Conrad was spotted trying to sneak out of Hollywood club Les Deux with ‘American Idol’ finalist Chris Richardson. After being ushered inside and skipping a huge line to get in the hotspot, the pair later came out together and then separated after they saw a photographer. Footage from TMZ has since been removed.

Tony Bennett Skips ‘Idol’ Elimination Show

April 6, 2007 - Jimmy Kimmel joked during his ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ monologue on Wednesday night, “It was supposed to be Tony Bennett week at ‘American Idol’, but he pulled out of tonight’s show. His publicist said he had the flu, but the rumor is, he actually came down with a nasty case of Sanjayarrea. … The Sanjaya-tola reign of terror goes on for yet another week.”
