Hilary Duff Takes On Multi-Episode ‘Gossip Girl’ Role

Michael Ausiello of Entertainment Weekly reports Hilary Duff has signed on for a multi-episode appearance on the CW series ‘Gossip Girl’, with her first appearance on the new season’s fourth episode on October 5th. Hilary Duff tells Rachel Ray she sometimes leaps to the defense of her boyfriend Mike Comrie while attending the New York Islander star’s games. “I like to sit in the audience, you know I don’t sit up in a box or anything, and people started to know that I’m sitting there, and they’ll be like ‘Mike sucks!’ Or [they] try to rile me up,” Duff said on Rachael’s talk show. “And I’m like, ‘Hey, watch it! I’ll come up there, you know.’ … I try to not be that crazy girlfriend.”

Duff also was asked about being dissed by veteran actress Fay Dunaway, who turned her nose up at the 21-year-old reprising Dunaway’s role as Bonnie Parker in ‘The Story of Bonnie and Clyde’. “Obviously it was a little hurtful,” Duff said. “She said she wished they’d gotten a real actress to play the part. You know what, I just am sick of people - I’ve always taken the high road when it comes to people talking bad about me. I’m over it. It’s not necessary to have negativity. Hilary Duff spoke with E!’s Michael Yo about her upcoming appearance in ‘Ghost Whisperer’, and how her cameo came about thanks to the show’s star, who happens to be a friend. “Jennifer Love Hewitt’s one of my friends, and we were having dinner one night,” Duff explained. “She’s like, ‘Come be on my show. You know, we’re almost finished.’ I’m like, ‘Give me a part. I’ll do it.’ And it just kind of came about really naturally and organically like that.”

Hilary Duff, photographed here sending out a message to fans from the Hard Rock Cafe in Los Angeles, responded to the insult delivered her way by Faye DunawayHilary Duff spoke with E! News about a Faye Dunaway’s recent comment to the Chicago Sun-Times after the 68-year-old learned Duff was to reprise her role in a remake of the 1967 film ‘The Story of Bonnie and Clyde’.

“Couldn’t they at least cast a real actress,” Dunaway asked. In response, Duff alluded to Faye’s apparent cosmetic surgery. “I think that my fans that are going to go see the movie don’t even know who she is, so you know, uh, I think it was a little unnecessary but I might be mad if I looked like that now too,” Duff said.
