Vanessa Carlton ‘Carousel’ Video

Vanessa Carlton is out with the music video to her new single ‘Carousel’, the first release from the American singer songwriter’s fourth studio album ‘Rabbits on the Run’, out June 21st on Razor & Tie.

“‘Carousel’ is the only song I’ve ever written in a dream that sounded lovely the next morning,” Carlton explained. “The origin of ‘Carousel’ is a dream, hence the dreamscape of the visual. I worked with an inspiring group of artists with impeccable taste. We were careful with its visual symbolism. There is nothing meaningless about it and I hope that comes across. The song is hopeful and it grew out of a very dark place. I think this little film of ‘Carousel’ represents the spectrum of the music and I hope it adds a little spark of something pure and inspiring to the mix out there.”

My homestate, my childhood forest and beloved Delaware river are in trouble.

I am mortified by what has been going on in Pennsylvania and New York State. What these gas companies are doing is hazardous and un-American. This is extremely personal to me. Find out what’s been going on for yourself and, if you can, make a donation, or come check this out……or both!

Pit Bull Accused Of Biting Vanessa Carlton Won’t Be Put Down

July 8, 2010 - Pocono Record reports a pit bull accused of biting Vanessa has won a reprieve from being put down and could move back with her owners provided they build a fence around their property. Carlton was jogging past the Teichberg family home in Shohola, PA home May 2nd when she was bit by a dog she later identified as Bella, who was 9 months old at the time of the attack. “I turned and tried to be submissive, and turned into the woods, backing up so it wouldn’t be so angry,” Carlton told the court, adding that as she was turning the dog bit her leg. A mold of Bella’s teeth did not match bite marks on Carlton’s leg following the incident, according to an expert who testified. Read more.

Vanessa Carlton Interview & ‘Who’s To Say’ Performance

Vanessa Carlton is featured in a ‘Notes from the Road’ interview and performance on Ovation TV’s YouTube channel.

The singer songwriter talked about studying ballet initially in New York before she started writing pop songs and developing an interest in that over ballet. Carlton said that she prefers not to be a “manic depressive”, explaining that “most artists are pretty sensitive in a way that can be painful to the world around them.”

Vanessa Carlton Talks ‘Heroes And Thieves’ With Kiwibox.com

Kiwibox.com’s Allison interviewed Vanessa Carlton, where the singer songwriter talked about working with ex-boyfriend Stephan Jenkins, Linday Perry and Irv Gotti on her third album ‘Heroes and Thieves’, how she’s “definitely living this record”, her hope to resurrect the written note, heading to Malaysia in April, and how she’s changed from the first album to the current disc.

On working with Jenkins, Perry and Gotti on the album, she said, “Well, I worked on a few chapters of the album with Linda, then I did the majority of it with Stephan, and Irv was more of a cohesive glue in terms of A&R’ing it with me. It’s a very cohesive record despite the fact that I worked with two different people. I have been aknowleging this record as my first concept record, and it really is more of a musical storybook and there’s a real thread that links all the chapters.”

On tracks from the album that hit home personally for her, Carlton said, “It depends on my mood, but there’s a song called ‘Home’ on there that makes me very upset in a good way every time I play it. I’m definitely living this record in the sense that you play it and you play certain songs and it pushes fresh buttons in a positive way. ‘More Than This’ is the conclusive chapter of the book and it’s the last song on the album. It’s kind of this lyrical notion that I’m striving for all the time and I’m really in the middle of trying to achieve the sentiment behind this song, which is if you choose to declare in this moment that you need no more than what you have, then you would experience bliss. We’re always in the grind every day and it’s easy to loose focus and sight of what brings you joy and what makes you feel peaceful.”
