Marie Digby Returns From Japan, Now Heads To Israel

Marie Digby updated fans on her blog at MySpace (@mariedigby) on Saturday (September 6). The singer writer tells readers:

I just got back from Japan several days ago… still haven’t gotten over the jet lag!

Now I’m leaving for Israel in a few hours for a little vacation with my family.

I’ve seen them all at different times but it’s been a long while since we’ve all spent more than a day together. I guess that’s what happens as my sisters and I get older and become more involved in our own activities. I’m sure that when we all start to get married, have children, it’ll become nearly impossible to coordinate our schedules for family vacations! So I better enjoy this time now…

Marie Digby’s Disastrous Gig In Birmingham

Marie Digby checked in with fans on her blog at MySpace (@mariedigby) on Saturday (June 14) from Longview, Texas while on tour. “Last night, we played a show at the House of Blues in New Orleans! What an amazing city.. it’s too bad that we only had about 8 hours before we had to take off,” Digby writes. “The night before that, I had my most disastrous show of the tour in Birmingham, Alabama !! Just about everything went wrong - my mic wasn’t on, my guitar wouldn’t make a sound, my guitar string popped as soon as the sound came back on, i forgot lyrics.. chords !!! but THEN - everything took a turn when these studs took it upon themselves to come up on stage and dance while I played ‘Umbrella’. Thanks guys :)”

Marie Digby Talks About Guitar Contest, Asia Visit

Marie Digby checked in just after getting back from Asia, where her suitcase is in the process of being re-packed because she’s left on Saturday for her U.S tour. She also talked about her contest winner for her guitar and her agony picking a single winner, as well as having “the time of my life” in Singapore and Malaysia.

“Let me say that doing this contest, for me, I thought it was going to be la dee da, just a lot of fun. I’ll just pick a winner, give them a guitar and that’s it, but no, it was actually really heartbreaking and it was so hard for me to pick one winner because I really, really loved every single entry, and I’m not joking about that. I watched each one at least four or five times and I couldn’t pick a winner because I couldn’t stand the idea of hurting the feelings of 244 people and just making one person happy. I was like okay, get it together. No one is going to do this for you, just pick a winner, send them a guitar and that’s it with contests.”

Talking about her trip, Marie said, “I just got back from Singapore and Malaysia, and I had the time of my life. I really did. It was incredible. It was everything I had hoped for and more. I got to meet so many new people. In Sinapore we did a show and I was so impressed because there were people who were singing along to songs that are not on the radios over there so you guys are listening to my stuff on YouTube or are buying my album, so thank you so much. That really made my week.”

“Basically all you have to do is make a video of my song ‘Say It Again’. So you can play it on the guitar, on the piano, trumpet, whatever you happen to play, and just do a cover of the song, or you can get super super creative and make a music video for ‘Say It Again’,” Digby said about the contest. “Whatever it is that you want to do, as long as it includes that song. If you are the winner, they you will get a free guitar that I actually picked out at the store the other day. It’s almost identical to the very first guitar that I had. The very first song that I wrote was on this guitar, so I hope you enjoy it.”
