Marion Raven Promotes ‘Set Me Free’ In Europe

Former M2M star Marion Raven checked in with fans on her blog at MySpace on Tuesday (March 27) with the following update:

I will be spending the next two weeks in Europe setting up the release for my album ‘Set Me Free’ in The Netherlands, UK and Germany. You can now start requesting my song ‘Falling Away’ on the radio in Germany and The Netherlands. And my song ‘Break You’ in The UK.

My travel:

28th of March: Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
29th-30th of March: London, England
2nd-5th of April: Germany

I am very excited to go around Europe and hopefully make some new fans.

Marion Raven Joining Meat Loaf On Tour

Former M2M star Marion Raven posted the following message to fans on Thursday (March 8): “The Meat Loaf tour in Canada has now started and it’s going really great so far. It’s been up to 8000 people in the audience. I am opening up acoustic for 30 minutes. Then I come back later in the show and sing ‘It’s All Coming Back To Me Now’ with Meat Loaf. I will also be coming up by the merchandise booth after some of my shows to say hello. And be sure not to miss that I have my own t-shirts and copies of ‘Set Me Free’ available on the tour from now on! Hope to see you around. Marion” The singer also said she’ll join Meat Loaf at his U.S. shows on March 24th in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania at Tower Theatre and April 12-13 in New York City at the Theatre at Madison Square Garden.

Marion Raven Embraces Joan Jett Comparisons

Exclusive Magazine caught up with Marion Raven in a Q&A and asked the former M2M star if she’s comfortable to be referred to as the new Joan Jett of Rock ‘n Roll. “There are so many girls out there right now who pretend to be rock,” she said, “but they don’t write their own songs, they don’t play instruments and some don’t even sing. So I think you would have to go all the way back to Joan Jett to find someone to compare me with.” Read more.

Marion Raven’s Gameplan

Former M2M star Marion Raven checked in with fans on her official web site’s forum on Saturday (September 23), answering several fan questions, including one asking the singer about “doing a rockier image now” and what type of musical demographic she’s trying to appeal to. “My sound will still be rock with a pop appeal,” she said. “I will mostly be doing promo for the Meat Loaf song this fall in the US. But at the same time promoting myself and get people interested in me as an artist. I will be attending a lot of big TV shows in America with Meat Loaf performing our song [‘It’s All Coming Back to Me Now’]. I have an EP coming out in the end of October and will be doing a few online interviews to support that release. There will then be more things happening in the beginning of next year with a new single, video, touring etc. My music is for everyone who want to listen.”

No Meat Loaf For Scarlett Johansson

TMZ reports Meat Loaf was on a quest to find an actress to duet with for his cover of Celine Dion’s 1996 hit ‘It’s All Coming Back to Me Now’. Loaf initially wanted Scarlett Johansson, then asked other actresses, who all turned him down. The veteran rocker, who first performed the track with Katharine McPhee on the finale of ‘American Idol’, settled with former M2M star Marion Raven. Read more.
