‘The X Factor’ Australia Edition A Ratings Disappointment

Ronan Keating is finding that hopes to star as a judge in the Australian version of ‘The X Factor’ aren’t going so well, with the show only drawing 1 million viewers in its debut. “Ronan was meant to be the star attraction on this show along with Natalie Imbruglia, but the public just have not responded,” a television insider told The Sun. “It has cost the network [$21 million], but it’s just not working.” The show features the Boyzone star, Imbruglia, ‘Australian Idol’ season one winner Guy Sebastian and radio and TV personality Kyle Sandilands.

Ronan Keating is making inroads in his effort to win back his estranged wife Yvonne. The couple are in Australia with their three kids while the Boyzone star works as a judge on the ‘The X Factor’. “Yvonne and Ronan haven’t been apart for nearly a month,” a family source told News of the World. “They are spending all their time together and doing things a normal family would - days out, dinners and plenty of quality time together. This is the most promising they’ve looked as a couple since their separation in May.”

He would sing into Francine’s eyes and give her the most loving looks. The affection between them was very real and significant.”

Ronan Keating and his wife Yvonne announced they were to separate last Thursday after it emerged the Boyzone star had an affair with dancer Francine Cornell. The Mirror reports that Yvonne ordered the singer to leave their Dublin home immediately, telling him “You’re not welcome here.”

“To say I’m stressed is to say the least,” Ronan confessed at the Zurich airport after performing three nights in the city.

A pal told the British tabloid that the 33-year-old “is praying the separation is only that and doesn’t translate into a divorce. He is desperate to make amends.”

Boyzone singer Ronan Keating posed shirtless for the latest issue of the gay magazine Attitude, talking about how he’s become obsessed with staying fit as he gets older. “We realize we’re older, and you can let yourself go a little bit, so we try that little bit harder,” the 33-year-old said. “I get a bit addicted to it.”

Ronan added that having his bandmates Keith Duffy, Shane Lynch and Mikey Graham to turn to after they lost Stephen Gately last year has been a blessing. “We find comfort in the four of us together,” he explained. “He’s in the room when we’re together. We feel him with us all the time.”

Liz McClarnon checked in with fans on her blog at MySpace (@lizmcclarnon) on Tuesday (January 5), talking about filming ‘Hotter Than My Daughter’, singing at Stephen Gately’s memorial, doing the Rays Of Sunshine gig with JLS, and joining Ronan Keating on his upcoming tour with help from his sister Linda.
