One Direction Talk Dating Status & World Travel Benefits

Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson of One Direction, seen here with Liam Payne sending a message for Indonesia, talk with heat radio

One Direction, minus Liam Payne, joined Sarah Powell when on heat radio recently. Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson talked about how they can go out in public without getting hassled, if they ever just want a break from it, having a desire to see family and friends while on tour, the best thing about being in the boy band, the reaction they get from girls, their dating status, Katy Perry reportedly having their dolls, their backstage routine, and more.

Asked if they can go anywhere in peace, Harry said, “We love it. We think it’s fun. You know you never expect people to be outside of a hotel when you come out and stuff, but it’s crazy. We’ve had an amazing time this past few years and can’t wait to tour and stuff this year.”

Asked if it ever gets crazy if they just want to go out to dinner, Louis said, “The only time it might become a problem is if everyone knows that you’re going to be at a certain place at a certain time. If you’re just gonna go walk out of your house and go for a walk down the road, go for a jog, go to the local bakery and grab yourself a sausage roll, you can do all of that.”

As for something they wish they could do but can’t, Louis said, “I think sometimes when you’re away on tour, you’d just like to see friends and family more. Sometimes because we’re really, really busy, we don’t often get a chance to play football and do sports that much.”

On the best thing about being in 1D, Harry said, “I think as 18, 19, 20 year old guys, I just don’t think there’s anyone our age that gets to travel the world as much and see all of these amazing places. You go to places you either wouldn’t get a chance to go, or you just wouldn’t think of going to, and you see this amazing stuff. You see stuff you see in movies and it’s just crazy. We love it.”

Asked how they deal with the chaos that comes with the reaction girls have to them, Zayn said, “It’s crazy. If someone said to me before I was in a band, like hysteria, the first thing I’d think is Elvis or the Beatles, so to think that people have that sort of similar reaction to us is so strange, because we’re just normal people but it’s flattering and it’s cool and I wouldn’t trade it for the world.”

Harry Styles Explains Bring Me To 1D Contest

Harry Styles, joined by his One Direction bandmates Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan, explains the Bring Me to 1D contest

Episode one of One Direction’s Bring Me to 1D series features some Go1Den Ticket winners introducing themselves as they kick off their BM21D adventure in New York City.

Explaining the fan competition, Harry Styles said, “We wanted the opportunity to meet lots of different fans from all around the world, so we came up with the idea for Bring Me To 1D. We gave out loads of golden tickets (aka Go1Den) to people that had to do lots of different things, such as radio stations or TV shows, enter competitions and stuff to win the golden tickets. If they got the golden ticket, they got to come to New York, to the Madison Square Garden show, and to come to this fan event.”

Harry continued, “We have been so incredibly impressed by everything that we’ve seen from you guys. We’ve seen people who have made their own album covers. They’ve made books that are very thick. They’ve drawn pictures, they’ve painted pictures. Everyone always puts so much effort in and we appreciate it so much, so thank you so much.”

One Direction Keep It Simple For ‘Little Things’ Music Video

One Direction are out with footage from the set of their ‘Little Things’ music video, featuring commentary from group members Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson, as well as the video’s director Vaughan Arnell. The song is from the boy band’s second studio album ‘Take Me Home’, out now on Syco/Columbia Records.

“This song is my favorite song on the album,” Harry says. “I think it’s important in this video we just have to keep it quite stripped back like the song is.”

Arnell added, “We’re in the studio. Really, really simple. It’s just about the boys’ vocals. I think the track is so clean and so pure. It’s such an intimate song, so you want to feel like the boys are singing it to the camera, but at the same time, you don’t want it to feel too cheesy. We’re trying to get the boys to look down the lens, so that you really feel they’re singing it to you.”

Continuing the video’s theme, Liam said, “I think this is possibly our most relaxed video shoot ever. We’re sitting down on chairs, there’s cups of tea and guitars. It’s a slow song. We’re all just chilling out.”

Liam Payne offered his description of the One Direction photo shoot for the boy band’s second album ‘Take Me Home’ in Henley-upon-Thames, where he was joined his bandmates Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson.

Liam Payne with a convertible Mustang in the background talking about the One Direction photo shoot wrapping upOn the phone booth scene, Liam said, “Just been doing the phone box shot. Because we are British boys and do some work overseas, we thought we would show our Britishness with a little red phone box, but in typical our style, we thought we’d climb all over it, do some stupid things, pretend to hang off it, and potentially hurt ourselves, which we’re not insured for. Don’t try this at home.”

After wrapping up the shoot posing in a Mustang convertible, Liam said, “I had a really nice time. The location itself is quite strange and quirky. I think we quite enjoyed ourselves with all the different animals, being on the train and that fancy car over in the background. That’s the end of the shoot today. That’s a wrap. We know we’ve got some great shots out there. Hopefully you guys at home like them. Here’s to the new album. Let’s do it.”

“It’s very beautiful,” Harry said of the scene. “There’s goats, emuus, llamas, and we have lots of kind of bits lying around. We just got back from America, which was amazing. It was a really good trip. We had a lot of fun. It’s always nice to come home after being away from a little bit.”

Talking about some of the photo shoot scenes, Harry said, “We did a setup where it was like a family portrait, but it was like we’re taking the mick out of it. We’re gonna do the car thing, and then we’re finished.”

Describing the location, Louis said, “We are in Henley-upon-Thames. A beautiful place, quite different from London. You can see lovely wildlife here. It’s a fun place.”

As for the itinerary for the shoot, he said, “We’ve got like four or five different looks today, and we’ve just sat on an old bus, just trying to grasp lots of fun really.”

“We’re just excited to get more new music out there,” Louis said about ‘Take Me Home’. “Obviously it’s exciting when a new song goes to radio. The first album was successful, which was obviously thanks to you guys, the fans. The pressure is on for us to better that this time.”

One Direction ‘Take Me Home’ Photo Shoot Interrupted By Rain

One Direction members Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson pretend they're at a festival for a photo shoot for 'Take Me Home'. A later scene for a convertible Mustang was interrupted by rain

One Direction has released behind the scenes footage from the group’s photo shoot for their new album ‘Take Me Home’, narrated by Niall Horan. The video features Niall and his bandmates Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson being snapped on mopeds, a festival style camp setting, and plans for a shoot in a Mustang convertible that was nixed by rainfall.

“The shots we’re taking today will be on the album covers and different magazines across the next couple of years,” Niall said. Explaining one of the shoots, he said, “This set-up is like we’re at a festival. We’ve got a couple of tents and chairs up front. We’re just kind of chilling outside, pretending we’re at a festival.”

Moving to the next scene, Niall explained, “Now, we’ve got this random couch in the middle of a field. I don’t know what for, but we’re gonna sit on it and see what happens.”

As the day was concluding, Niall said, “We’re coming towards the end of the day, and we were gonna do a scene with the car outside, but we’ve been disturbed by (rain). It’s absolutely chucking it down. It’s not good. We’re gonna go back up to the house now. I’ve got a plastic bag to put over my hair or Lou would go crazy.”

Tom Fletcher: I Would Never Give One Direction Sh** Songs

One Direction (Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson) live

Tom Fletcher of McFly checked in with his Twitter followers (@tommcfly) moments ago, clarifying a story that was in Metro suggesting that he wrote substandard material for the boys from One Direction.

“It’s hard when you’re writing for someone else. You obviously always want to do your best work but sometimes you write and have a song idea and you’re like, ‘Oh, it’s so good I want to keep it for us’,” Fletcher told the publication, at which point his bandmate Danny Jones jokingly added, “‘You sent that slightly sh**ter one, didn’t ya?”

In response to the story, which apparently got him some heat from fans of Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson on the social media web site, Tom said:

So, the stuff in the press today about us giving One Direction our “sh**” songs is obviously completely false.

What Danny said was obviously a joke. We would never, NEVER, give anyone “sh**” songs and as I clearly say in the interview…

“You obviously always want to do your best work”. In fact all 3 songs I’ve written for 1D are some of my favorites I’ve EVER written and…

I genuinely would have kept them for McFly but I have never, and will never give anyone second rate songs.

How would that ever be good for me as a song writer?

And the most important point of all is… I’ve never written a sh** song ;)

Niall Horan Proud Of One Direction’s YouTube Views Record

One Direction member Niall Horan live

Niall Horan of One Direction was on the phone with Jeroen van Inkel of Q-Music in the Netherlands the other day, where the boy band member talked about the YouTube success of their ‘Live While We’re Young’ music video, how filming the video was improvisational, taking a step forward with their second album ‘Take Me Home’, plans to tour in the Netherlands, how he deals with fame and how he manages out in public going to the grocery store.

On 1D’s ‘Live While We’re Young’ music video breaking the YouTube record for most views in the first 24 hours, Niall said, “We found out that yesterday, and that’s absolutely mental considering how big the ‘Boyfriend’ video by Justin Bieber was. I think it’s something to be very proud of. We’re very proud of the video and the amount of views that it has gotten so far has been aboslutely crazy.”

Talking about the best part of filming the ‘Live While We’re Young’ video, he said, “I think how cool it was. We had this really cool director and there was no actual script to the video. It was literally like, ‘Okay, here is the scenario, now you do whatever you want in that scenario.’ It was just the freedom of it, and we’re glad that happened, because it turned out really cool.”

On what to expect ‘Take Me Home’, Niall said, “It’s gonna be another fun album from One Direction. It’s not a million miles away from the first album, but we wanted to inspire something bigger from the first album so I think we’ve done that. We’re very proud of this album, where literally the last few days we’ve been putting the songs together for the album. We’re ready to roll. It comes out November 12th and 13th around the world, so it will be fun.”

On prospects fans in the Netherlands can see the group visit the country, he said, “I don’t know just yet. Maybe next year I think, maybe. Hopefully we can get there soon because I really enjoyed myself when I was there last time. The fans are amazing there. Really, really fun. Our Dutch fans, they’re very curteious. Eveyrone was really nice to us, Dutch people in general.”

Talking about how he deals with fame at a young age, Horan said, “I don’t really kind of deal with it, I just kind of go with it. I just kind of roll along and just do what I’ve got to do. Do whatever is on the schedule and just kind of do it. I think if you let it get to your head, it’s gonna mess you up. Then you become big headed and stuff and then you get an ego. None of us are like that. We were brought up instead of dragged up by our parents.”

One Direction Discuss Pepsi Ad, The Beatles Comparisons

One Direction (Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson) in concert live

Tv3’s Xpose caught up with Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson of One Direction in Ireland recently, where the boy band talked about making history with the success of their single ‘Live While We’re Young’, comparisons to The Beatles and being part of a big Pepsi ad campaign. They weren’t as thrilled to talk about girlfriends before slipping into another room.

Talking about the ‘Live While We’re Young’ chart success, Harry said, “It felt good. I think we’ve been kind of nervous about the second album, and now we’re really happy with it. We’re glad that it’s kind of doing well already, so we’re excited.”

As for talk they’re following in the footsteps of The Beatles, Niall said, “I don’t think so. We don’t feel like it anyway. If we were ever to emulate that success, it would be amazing, but The Beatles are The Beatles.”

Discussing their role in the new Pepsi advertisements, following in the footsteps of David Beckham, Elton John and Britney Spears, Liam said, “It’s mad because we’ve watched all of them since we were a kid and Snoop Dogg and David Beckham, you saw those big Star Wars adverts so yeah it’s really cool.”
