Pink On ‘The Truth About Love’, Working With Eminem & Lily Rose Cooper

Pop singer Pink (Alecia Moore), seen here wearing a fancy dress walking down some stairs, talks with KISS FM about her latest album 'The Truth About Love', which features collaborations with Eminem ('Here Comes the Weekend') and Lily Rose Cooper ('True Love')

Alecia Moore, better known as Pink, invited KISS FM to her hotel in London for an interview. The pop singer talked about laying down the law to hubby Carey Hart while she was pregnant, her new album ‘The Truth About Love’, working with Eminem and Lily Rose Cooper (Lily Allen) on the project, finding British guys sexy and saying no to ‘The X Factor’ and similar singing shows.

“My favorite part of being pregnant, at one point Carey broke all of this glass on our wood floor. I was like, ‘Don’t just sweep it up. You’re gonna miss something and I’m barefoot and pregnant and go get the vacuum. He’s like, ‘What are you doing?’ I’m like, ‘It looks like I’m relaxing, but I just made a spine, so go get the fu**ing vacuum.'”

Asked about the new album ‘The Truth About Love’, Pink said, “It’s fun. I’m just super excited for people to hear it and my favorite part about giving my baby, not my real baby but my other baby, my album away, is just waiting for the feedback from the fans on the web site. Just from friends and different people. Most of my friends I had to give them an album and let them know I put it out because they don’t really care, but finding out what people’s favorite thing is, what their reaction to it and the feedback.”

Asked if she does know ‘The Truth About Love’, Pink confessed, “I don’t. I have only questions. I think the older you get and the more relationships you have, the more boggled your mind is. I had a conversation with my dad the other day, who is almost 67, and he said, ‘Honey, I don’t even have the answers’. Isn’t that depressing.” (more…)

Pink Discusses Willow, Motherhood & ’50 Shades of Grey’

Pink (Alicia Moore) tongue

Pink was in the studio with Cubby Bryant and Cindy Vero of KTU in New York City a few weeks ago promoting her new single ‘Blow Me (One Last Kiss)’. The pop star talked about her daughter Willow, how motherhood has changed her, if being a mom has changed her songwriting, the ‘Greatest Hits… So Far!!!’ album, ’50 Shades of Grey’ and more.

On Willow:

She’s amazing. She’s the best baby that was every born in the history of the planet. I’m going to eat her. Everything I say is inappropriate. I’m afraid of going any further than that.

How motherhood has changed her:

It’s just made me better. It’s a total cliche and you really don’t get it until you have them, but oh my goodness, it’s just made my heart bigger and heavier. It’s like you wake up every morning and get hit by the worry train.

On the impact of being a mom with her songwriting:

I’m more thoughtful. I think. Who knows. Only in my head. I don’t know that it has. There’s no lullabies. I feel the best ones have already been written. I think the record is more fun because I’m having more fun. I wake up and shower for tushy wash and dance and sing weird songs, so my record is happy and dancy and rock n’ roll.

On having a greatest hits album out:

I was so trying to avoid it. You know that dates me. The record company, I had been holding them off for about 5 or 6 years, and they were going to do it without me, and I figured it would be better if they did it with me. We did it and it ended up being perfect, because I wanted to get knocked up. It was perfect timing.

On ’50 Shades of Grey’:

You know I had to see what all the hype is about, and I have read it. It does give you some ideas, but the writing is a little juvenile. I mean no it’s like, ‘Oh my god, his tongue is down there, holy fu**!’ Come on, can we use a bigger word once?

Pink Talks About Tattoos & A Ghostly Encounter In Turkey

A closeup of tattooed singer Pink (Alicia Moore)

JoJo hosted Pink at the KIIS FM studios in Los Angeles last week. The pop singer talked about her new album ‘The Truth About Love’, coming out September 18th, the new single ‘Blow Me (One Last Kiss)’ causing difficulty with radio, missing a chance to perform for President Obama, how tattoos are addicting, what the new album is all about and an encounter with what she believes is a ghost at a hospital turned hotel in Turkey.

On the new album:

The album is, well I don’t know how to sell myself without sounding really arrogant and stupid, but it’s my favorite album I’ve ever made. I just think the production is elevated. The songwriting is better. It’s just so fun and I just love it.

On the bleeping of her new single:

I’ve been going to radio this week and everyone’s got memos going on that we can’t pause in between. I was like wow, I forget, I’m in this bubble where everything goes, then I realize there’s a whole world out there… full of Republicans. Crazy people.

On missing a chance to perform for President Obama:

I was. I was going to have my daughters first birthday and I was going to get to perform for Obama at a fundraiser and I missed both.

On tattoos being addicting:

Because they’re pretty. I am getting one removed (behind my ear). Most drunk decisions you can’t take back. I’m exercising my right.

On what is ‘The Truth About Love’:

I always wait until I get that one song before I realize it’s not an experiment anymore and I’m actually making an album. That was the song. I realize that’s sort of a theme with me. Everyone thinks it’s a breakup song, but it’s so much more than that. There’s a lot of really fun surprise collaborations. I haven’t really done that before.

On “almost getting my butt kicked in Turkey” by a ghost:

It’s a long story. I was put in this room. It used to be a hospital. I didn’t know this at the time. I went to bed, I turned all the lights out. I woke up in the middle of the night and the lights were on and there was a pile of dead bugs in the middle of my bed. Like piled on top of each other. Your mind can make anything logical, so I’m like cool, brush off the bugs and I had a glass of wine on my night table, and I woke up to go to the bathroom and right where I was going to put my feet down my wine glass was broken. But if you hit your wineglass off your nightstand in the middle of the night, it will probably break into a couple of pieces. The stem will be in tact because it’s really hard to break. Literally there was not a piece of glass left. It was like someone came in with boots on and stomped it into the rug, right where I was going to put my feet down. I didn’t hear anything so that’s where this is starting to get uncomfortable. I have to get up at 8 am and go to the gym and go to soundcheck, and I don’t have time for this. I’m going to go back to bed and forget this ever happened. I wake up and it’s like I had been hit by lightning. The pillows were lying off the bed and it felt like somebody slapped me across the face. I called the reception and said you have to get me out of here now. They’re like right away and didn’t ask any questions. Bellman was there in two minutes, and they put me in another room. Tell me why they didn’t ask any questions? Because they’re used to it.

Pink Discusses ‘Happy Feet Two’ Song ‘Bridge Of Light’

Pink 'Bridge Of Light'

Pink is out with a video talking about her song ‘Bridge Of Light’, which is featured on the animated film ‘Happy Feet Two’. The George Miller directed project features a character voiced by Pink.

“When George first asked me to play the voice of Gloria I thought he was joking,” Pink said. “And then he asked me to write the song where Gloria can’t get to her baby and the only way that she can touch him is through song. So you think of lullabies as a kid and you think of the simplest, sweetest thing you can think of and then you play the piano and you write your song.”

Pink on a motorcycle

Pink checked in with her Twitter followers (@Pink) on Thursday (May 19), sounding off after seeing a music video being shot featuring horses painted pink, angering the PETA activist. The video ended up being for Selena Gomez’s song ‘Love You Like A Love Song’, meaning fans of the Disney star directed some return fire at the 31-year-old. Pink writes:

If there are any animal activists around Malibu- at Leo Cabrillo State Beach, there are horses being painted for a stupid music video. Shame

Artists should be more aware and responsible for their actions.

Oh lord, THAT’S whose video it was? Disney fans unite. Here we go. RT @PinkFans_ NEWS: @SelenaGomez fans are angry with @Pink.

Whether you are a fan of mine or whomever’s, I won’t stop speaking out about animal cruelty. I’ve taken responsibility in the past, so should she.

Selena’s people have since responded to the controversy, saying that the pink substance was “non toxic, vegetable based powder paint.”
