Sophie Ellis Bextor Puts Richard Jones In The Dog House

Sophie Ellis-BextorSophie Ellis Bextor sounded off on her husband Richard Jones over The Feeling bassist’s recorded question posed to his wife on a radio show and a Tweet Richard sent to a music web site logged into Sophie’s account. The pop singer told her Twitter followers (@SophieEB):

So @thefeeling did the same radio tour as me last week, and Richard was asked to record a question for me to answer on one of the stations.

What do you think he asked? Something sweet? Something to put us both in a good light?

No. He asked me ‘do you like picking up my dirty pants off the floor and putting them in the laundry bin?’

This makes us BOTH LOOK BAD. (and I don’t like it)

Naughty R!!!

RT @thefeeling @Popjustice @sophieeb that was actually me. Wrong account. Whoops. R

@thefeeling you knew EXACTLY what you were doing! Apologize to my followers at once! It’s not even past the watershed.

“@Popjustice: I cannot believe what @SophieEB just tweeted me about fisting” I did not expect to read this today when I woke up this morning

Sophie Ellis Bextor: Avoid Heavy Makeup At Festivals

Sophie Ellis Bextor is offering concertgoers a guide on how to dress for a festival in a column for Telegraph. One bit of advice the British pop singer had:

Stay neutral - You don’t want to be heavily made-up at a festival – it just looks odd. And as you’re spending a lot of time in the daylight, it’ll look really obvious if you have a lot of make-up on. A bit of eyeliner and mascara is all I wear. You don’t know when you’re going to see a mirror anyway, so best just to keep it simple. Any essentials you may need during the day, pack in a satchel so you’re still ‘hands-free.’ And always take dry shampoo – it’s a brilliant invention

Sophie Ellis Bextor Planning Informal Album Artwork

April 7, 2010 - Sophie answered another round of Twitter questions in a blog at her MySpace (@sophieellisbextor) on Wednesday (April 7), including if she had a concept for the artwork to her new album. The 30-year-old writes:

Yeah, I think we want to do something which is a bit looser and more informal than we have done before. I’ve done lots of lovely things where it’s been quite diva-ish and distant, and I do really like that angle for pop. But now that it’s album four, I feel like it might be OK to show a slightly different side of me. Maybe something a little bit more playful.

Sophie Ellis Bextor Talks About Her New Single ‘Bittersweet’

Sophie Ellis Bextor did a Q&A on her official web site, with several questions pertaining to her new single ‘Bittersweet’, which she wrote just after giving birth to her son Kit. Asked where she penned the track, the British pop singer responded:

It was a very, very relaxed writing session just after I’d come back from hospital. I was taking things easy and Hannah Robinson, who I write a lot with, came round. I was still feeding Kit at the time, so I had to keep stopping every two or three hours to feed him. I remember at one point in particular I was actually feeding him while I was writing. I was thinking, “This is pretty much the modern pop star - feeding a baby and writing a dance track!”.

Is Sophie Ellis Bextor Feeling Pressured To Deliver Successful Album?

February 12, 2010 - Sophie answered a few questions from fans submitted to her Twitter on her blog at MySpace (@sophieellisbextor) on Thursday (February 11), including one who wondered how critical is the success of her upcoming album for her career and if she’s feeling pressure ahead of its release. Sophie responded:

Ooh, that is an intelligent question. I would say the least critical out of everything, actually. Because I kind of feel like I do what I do now. Although that being said, you obviously want it to do well and I’m really pleased with it. But I don’t feel as much pressure, because I feel like I’m here now, y’know? I feel like I’ll be able to put out another album after this, no matter what.

Sophie Ellis Bextor 2 Or 3 Songs Away From Finishing New Album

Sophie Ellis Bextor did a Q&A on her blog at MySpace (@sophieellisbextor), talking about her baby Kit and 5-year-old son Sonny, as well as her new Freemasons single ‘Heartbreak (Make Me A Dancer)’ and if she’s making progress on her new album. The 30-year-old pop star says on the latter topic:

Absolutely. I’ve got some really good stuff and we’re nearly there, but I think I probably need another two or three songs. There are a couple of collaborations in the offing which might be quite good.

We’ll see. It’s all a matter of people’s diaries tallying up. I always get in trouble for saying when things are coming out, because then they change. But if everything goes to plan, I’m hoping to put out another single after ‘Heartbreak’, maybe in August and then have the album out later this year. That’s the intention, anyway.

Sophie Ellis Bextor Blogs About Baby Son Kit

April 17, 2009 - Sophie blogged at sparklingpregnancy.com about the birth of her second son Kit, who was born nine weeks early on February 7th. “I wouldn’t say it was easy having a premature baby again,” Sophie said, haven also given birth prematurely to Sonny, “it’s a traumatic experience, but Richard and I got through it by telling ourselves that if Kit wasn’t in hospital then I’d still be pregnant with him. Knowing there wasn’t any way that he’d be home with us no matter how things had gone made it easier so we just tried to go with the slight feeling of limbo and tried to be patient as he started to get well enough to come home.”

Sophie Ellis Bextor Pregnancy Allows Her Time To Focus On Music

January 30, 2009 - Sophie is contributing blogs about her second pregnancy to Shloer. Sophie’s said in her first blog on January 16th:

For me being pregnant is almost an indulgence as it gives me more time to focus on my music. My favorite part of the album making process is song writing so I’m taking my time and really savoring it. Protecting myself and the baby is the most important thing at this time and being pregnant really does give you the chance to slow down, prepare for the birth and focus on the things you really want to do. One of my top tips would be to try to preserve your social life as much as possible when you’re pregnant as it reminds you that you’re you and not just a pregnant lady! I DJ, run a club night called Modern Love, and have been doing the odd gig too. I’m going to continue to do this as long as possible so I don’t feel defined solely as a pregnant woman. I still have lots of energy so I might as well keep active and happy.

Sophie Ellis Bextor Isn’t Sure Whether Baby #2 Is A Boy Or A Girl

I kind of feel like it’s another boy. But it’s not really based on anything. We haven’t asked the doctor to find out. I love having a son but I kind of feel like I’d be on familiar territory with that.” Sophie added that she’s finishing up a fourth album which should be out around August-September, and it will be “a return to the more dancey side of things.” Watch the interview below.

Roisin Murphy Happy To Pass ‘On & Off’ To Sophie Ellis Bextor

Roisin Murphy tells the Daily Star she’s okay with Sophie Ellis Bextor’s next single being ‘On & Off’, the song Roisin originally recorded with No 1 star Calvin Harris, 24, but never used. “I think it is a lot better than my version actually,” the former Moloko singer said. “I think it suits her voice better - it is more narrative somehow with her singing it. That kind of dry delivery that she does, it doesn’t sound like anybody else, she has really made it her own.”

Sophie Ellis Bextor Working On New Material For Next Album

Sophie Ellis Bextor checked in with fans on her blog at MySpace (@sophieellisbextor) on Tuesday (May 27) with the following message:

Hi everyone,

I hope you’re all well and enjoying the sun, well, when it is actually nice out. I hope we get a decent Summer this year. I’m trying to think of things to do with Sonny when it’s miserable outside. So far we’ve been down the local Paint-It-Yourself shop and painted plates and a mug for Richard. The other weekend I went to The Life Ball in Vienna which was one huge party. It raises money to combat AIDS and HIV. We opened the show in the official Life Ball Mini which was designed by Agent Provocateur and I sat with Joseph Corre who was lovely. It was such a massive event, it was a real honor to be there.

Meanwhile I’m back in the studio recording new material for my next album and I’m so excited about it all. I can’t say too much about it all just yet but you can be sure that as soon as I can I’ll tell you all about it.

Anyway, that’s about it for now but thank you so much for all your messages in the forum,

Lots of Love Sophie. x
