Amy Macdonald checked in with fans on her blog at MySpace on Sunday (January 25), feeling good after being nominated for the German Echo awards, where the Scottish singer songwriter has also been asked to perform. The 21-year-old tells readers:
Amazing news.
I have been nominated as best international female at the German Echo awards! This is such great news for me. It’s such a massive awards show and it really means alot to finally be recognized for my music.
I always say the best reward for me is having great fans and I totally stand by that but it does feel nice to be recognized. I’ve been left out of awards shows for so long and this makes it even more special.
However this is not the best news. The best news is that not only have I been nominated but I have been asked to perform as well. This is incredibly exciting as the other performers are U2!!! I cannot believe that I will be performing on the same stage as U2! This is such a huge honor and I can’t wait!!!
Cross your fingers for me.
