Adam Lambert Critiques Grammy Performers

Adam Lambert

Adam Lambert checked in with his Twitter followers (@adamlambert) following Sunday’s Grammy Awards, offering his thoughts on performers at the Staples Center event in Los Angeles. The ‘American Idol’ alum even sounded a bit like Simon Cowell after offering some “just being honest” critiques. Adam writes:

Loving the Grammys!

Despite it being similar to some other tunes, Born This Way has an incredible message and has been stuck in my head for two days!! Get it GAGA. Can’t wait for the album.

My other Grammy favorite moments were: Janelle/Bruno/B.o.B, the Aretha tribute, (vocals!!) Katy P and Muse.

CeeLo was great too but I don’t know what the hell Gweneth was doing up there. Usher and Bieber’s dancing was sick- but their vocals? Eh. Just being honest.

These opinions come from being in the live audience- MAY have sounded different on TV (always does)

But hey- last time I did an award show performance I was a mess so… Haha sh** happens.

Adam Lambert Agrees To Tone Down Concert In Malaysia

Adam Lambert

Adam Lambert checked in with his Twitter followers (@adamlambert) on Monday (October 11), talking about how he’s agreed to tone down his concert at the Putra Indoor Stadium in Bukit Jalil, Malaysia on Thursday. The Central Agency for Application for Filming and Performance by Foreign Artistes (Puspal) principal assistant secretary Mohd Dian Nais said among the ‘American Idol’ runner-up should dress appropriately and refrain from performing indecent acts, such as removing his clothes. Lambert writes:

While I don’t believe that my Glamnation tour is in any way offensive I have agreed to make a few minor adjustments out of respect for the Malaysian government. Looking forward to a fun show.

Does my show “promote the gay lifestyle”? It promotes living ANY lifestyle that includes the freedom to seek love and intimacy. Gay, straight, bi, young or old. It’s all inclusive.

plus, what’s THE gay lifestyle? There isn’t just one. There are so many different kinds of gay people. We have a variety of different lifestyles. There’s not only one lifestyle lived by straight folks. Generalizing….

Adam Lambert hands

Vevo did an “Ask:Reply” with Adam Lambert, where fans asked the ‘American Idol’ season eight runner-up about how long it takes him to prepare for a performance and who is responsible for his style. “I guess it depends on the performance,” Adam said of his prep time. “If we’re doing lots of glam and crazy makeup and hair, we like to take our time. Maybe an hour and a half, tops. Sometimes it’s a little more simple, and sometimes it only takes a half hour, 45 minutes.” Watch the video below.

Adam Lambert Disputes Paparazzo’s Battery Allegation

Adam Lambert

Adam Lambert checked in with his Twitter followers (@adamlambert) on Friday (September 17), reacting to news that a paparazzo filed a report accusing the ‘American Idol’ alum of misdemeanor battery while on a beach in Miami on Thursday. Lambert writes:

Eeew paparazzi killed my peaceful afternoon on the beach! #howisthisok?

They’re real good at provoking, but there ain’t any pics or video of the b.s. they spew out… Haha well… I lost my temper for a sec but wow it felt great lol MIAMI!!!

Hahha the photos are hilarious !! Lol please everyone forgive me for that hat. - I was attempting a disguise- clearly failed. Hahah

Battery? Nope. I attempted to grab a camera, no punches were thrown and no one was on the ground…. It was literally harmless. If embarrassment is a crime- thats all I’m guilty of.

Anyway, everyone should check out the beautiful Raleigh Hotel in South Beach! Had a great stay. Excited for the show in Melbourne, FL tonight!!

Adam Lambert: No One Is Copying Anyone Because Everything’s Been Done

Adam Lambert checked in with his Twitter followers (@adamlambert) earlier this evening, commenting on how In Touch had a photo spread suggesting Willow Smith was copying his style. That led the ‘American Idol’ alum into a discussion about the copying topic, mentioning Tokio Hotel singer Bill Kaulitz, who people accuse Adam of copying, and how Christina Aguilera and Lady Gaga were inspired by Madonna, who in turn was inspired by Marilyn Monroe and others. He writes:

Willow’s a little badass lady but I don’t think we have much in common! Lol. C’mon InTouch! This is a stretch… :)

Didn’t you hear? I’m copying Bill Kaulitz. So… In a round about way, so is she. Right? And he’s copying Rihanna.

In truth ladies and gentlemen… No one is copying anyone. Following trends is a stylist’s job and part of ours is to appear fashionable. Leave the copy cat bull to the school playground.

For example: the Xtina/Gaga Conspiracy? Lets look just look at Madonna. Seems they were BOTH inspired by her. And she borrowed a page from Marilyn. (amongst others) it’s the Post Modern age - everything’s been done. Pop stars acknowledging something and editorializing on it is an art.

K I’m done ranting. Lol

And to clarify before any media takes my rant out of context: I am a fan of all the artists I just mentioned! I love you Madonna, Marilyn, Gaga, XTina, Rihanna, Bill, and little Willow (for inspiring this rant and inTouch to begin with) btw girl- you fierce. :)

*also anyone that took me too seriously just now needs to…. NOT!
