Dido To Pen New Album In LA
The Daily Star reports Dido is set to depart England for Los Angeles to write her new album. “It’s a really fertile writing place,” Dido explained. “Sometimes you have to be lonely to write, it really helps. It can also be helpful if you’ve got a lot of stuff inspiring you and you’re feeling a bit weird and lonely.”

Rollo Talks About His Sister Dido
The producer of Faithless and Dido’s producer/brother Rollo spoke with Radio 1 about the differences in working with the two acts. “It’s a very different process, because the song always comes first,” Rollo said. “The song will be written on guitar or piano and only once the song is written do we produce it. So every song that Dido’s written can be played beautifully on the guitar. And from the song we produce the track, hopefully to bring out the song, whereas with Faithless it’s ‘here’s the music, now let’s write the song’.”

Dido Has A Crush On Soccer Ace
News of the World reports Dido and Leeds United soccer star Alan Smith enjoyed a dinner date after she developed a huge crush on the striker and plan another meal when she returns from work in New York. “Dido’s always had a bit of a thing for Alan. Word got back to him and it all took off from there,” a friend revealed. “They had planned to meet this weekend because Leeds were in London to play Arsenal, but Dido had to go to the States so they had to put that on hold. The relationship is just a bit of fun for both of them. Alan split from his girlfriend recently so is also young, free and single.”
Dido Live In Tokyo
Dido performed an intimate acoustic showcase in Tokyo on October 30, 2003. Members of the media, lucky contest winners and record industry people attended the invite-only private gig. Accompanied by her guitarist, Dido performed ‘Thank You,’ ‘White Flag’ and ‘Life For Rent’ among others.

Nice Toilets Draw Dido To V
The Sun reports Dido has agreed to play her first music festival at V this in Essex and Staffordshire in August, because they have posh toilets. “V was the natural choice for me,” she said. “It is a really good mix of music and the weather always seems to be quite nice. And it has posh toilets, too.” Dido will perform alongside N.E.R.D., The Strokes, and Jamie Cullum.

Dido In Despair As Father’s Health Deteriorates
The Sunday Mirror reports that Dido missed out on the Brit Awards because she is emotionally distraught over her father William O’Malley Armstrong’s frightening relapse of a brain disease. “It puts her success into perspective and she knows the only thing of any concern is the health of her father,” a friend revealed. “His recovery from illness a couple of years ago inspired her to write the album Life For Rent, which has gained such success. So it just adds to Dido’s unease that William is once again unwell.”
Dido to Begin North American Tour In May

She couldn’t be happier.” The friend added, “She’s blissfully happy with him. And taking him to Rollo’s wedding proved to all the family that she was serious about Rod. Dido Packs An Unlikely Punch
December 30, 2003 - Dido admitted in an interview with Q magazine to acting violent when she was about to get on stage to sing with her brother Rollo’s band Faithless. “The security guard wouldn’t let me on, insisting it wasn’t my turn because Faithless were on,” Dido explained. “‘I am in Faithless, you idiot,’ I told him, but still he wouldn’t move. So I punched him in the stomach and he dropped to the floor. I can be really horrible sometimes, a total bitch.”
