March 29, 2006 - Songwriter Michael Ortega spoke with Jeannette Walls of MSNBC.com about his lawsuit against Janet, charging the singer’s ‘All For You’ stole chunks of a tune he’d written for Jackson. “It appears that Janet’s attorneys are attempting to impose a gag order over the case so that all documents are ‘confidential’… and a public trial thus becomes private,” Ortega revealed. “This action would severely tie the hands of the press to cover this trial.”
Virgin Won’t Release Janet Jackson Album Unless She Slims Down
February 13, 2006 - A source tells The New York Post Janet has been ordered by her record label Virgin to lose the weight she’s packed on by September or they won’t release her new album. Why did she get so large last year? “Janet had a really bad year,” the source explained. “After the incident at the Super Bowl [two years ago], it just went downhill. Her album ‘Damita Jo’ was a flop. Then her brother Michael had the child-molestation trial - it just wasn’t good to her.” The source added, “This new album is supposed to be pretty good, but Virgin feels it can’t market it without Janet being back in fighting form, so they have hired her a personal trainer and put her on a diet. She has to lose at least 20 pounds.”
