Joanna Pacitti Remembers Her ‘American Idol’ Experience

Joanna Pacitti checked in with fans on her blog at MySpace (@joanna) on Monday (June 29), talking about how it’s been a year since her prematurely completed ‘American Idol’ experience began. She writes:

It’s been a while since I have done an official blog so I think it is time… considering I am in a strange mood and thinking a lot. I really can’t believe it was this time last year that I was thinking about auditioning for this little show called “American Idol” I was living in Michigan of all places (playing “housewife” hehe) and completely helpless. All I wanted to do is sing and share my voice and music with the world. For some CRAZY reason I have been pretty unlucky in this business but I truly believe (even still) that its for a reason and it is preparing me for something bigger. But I can’t help but be sad right now - Idol was an amazing experience for me and HUMBLING. I lined up for HOURS just like everyone else and made it through each round based on my talent. I made a lot of great friends and also built my confidence back up which I was in desperate need of. I am thankful for the time that I was a part of the show but I truly wish I was there longer - I think I deserved it.

‘American Idol’ Alums React To Joanna Pacitti’s Ouster

Joanna Pacitti

UsMagazine.com spoke with four former ‘American Idol’ about news that Joanna Pacitti was ousted from Season eight’s Top 36 after it’d been suggested she had a close relationship with executives at 19 Entertainment, the company that produces the hit FOX show. “I believe in second chances,” season one runner-up Justin Guarini said. “I don’t think I’d be here without a second chance, and probably a third or fourth chance. Everyone needs to be held up to the same standards on American Idol, and I think that’s important, I think that’s important for the reputation of ours. Unfortunately, she was disqualified from the show, but I think the exposure is going to be huge for her. Hopefully she gets the break that she absolutely deserves because she is fantastic and I think that she just hasn’t quite hit it. Hopefully now this’ll give her the push… I remember Simon saying, ‘You forget your lyrics you’re going home,’ and she did it twice. You have to be held up to the same standards. There are other people who’ve sung well who’ve had to go home. I applaud Idol for being consistent.”

Joanna Pacitti Has Close Ties To Two ‘Idol’ Execs

Joanna Pacitti ‘Truly Amazing’

A photo montage of Geffen recording artist Joanna set to her new song ‘Truly Amazing’ has been posted online. The singer wrote in a blog on her MySpace on Wednesday (August 8): “Hey Guys, So, I’m not sure if you noticed but I secretly snuck in one of my new songs onto the main page. I made a slide show to it. :) This song so far is one of my favorites because of the meaning. I think at every age in our life - men and woman go through trying to be what someone else wants you to be. In the song there are a lot of contradicting lyrics that people say and that in the end it doesn’t matter. You will always be WHO YOU ARE and nothing can change that - on inside or out. Yes, we all grow but we always remain the same person and we are all AMAZING and unique in our own way. People that try to change you will eventually see that you are TRULY AMAZING. It will definitely make you smile and feel good. Please let me know your thought on the ‘new sound’ Love you guys! Here are some pics from the studio! Joanna” The video and referenced pictures have since been removed.
