Pop Artists React To The Death Of Kidd Kraddick

Several pop artists reacted with shock and sadness over the death of Texas based syndicated radio host David “Kidd” Kraddick, who died at a charity golf tournament in New Orleans. The DJ, whose Kidd Kraddick in the Morning show aired in nearly 100 cities, was 53. Cause of death was a cardiac related, according to a preliminary autopsy report. Demi Lovato Performs Live Set, Talks ‘Demi’ & Songwriting

Demi Lovato performed songs from her latest album ‘Demi’, in a live concert from Greystone Manor in Hollywood. The singer and actress also discussed songwriting, collaborations, and her album in an interview on Walmart Soundcheck.

On her album ‘Demi’, she said, “It’s just a representation of who I am and where I am today and the music I wanted to create for a long time, and I finally got the courage to do so. It kind of goes back to the roots of my first two albums and it’s different because I’m also speaking about some pretty heavy issues and opening up a lot.”

Explaining how she creates her music, Demi said, “My writing process is going into the studio and either having something to say and telling who I’m writing with, ‘Hey, this is what I want to write about. I have to get this off my chest.’ That’s kind of how we start the song, and also trying to personalize it as much as possible.”

Demi Lovato: I Wasn’t Dissing Justin Bieber

Demi Lovato checked in with her Twitter followers (@ddlovato) on Saturday (July 13), reacting to a report on TMZ that during ‘X Factor’ auditions earlier this week, she had taken some subtle jabs at Justin Bieber.

The attitude of one hopeful prompted Demi to tell him, “We don’t need another little punk running the streets,” which was interpreted as a diss of Bieber who has angered neighbors with his reckless driving. Demi told another contestant after he performed Justin’s song ‘As Long As You Love Me’, “Well finally someone can sing the song the way it was meant to be sung.”

Demi clarified her remarks stating:

BTW - no shade thrown at Justin. So many people audition with his songs.. Finally someone sang it the way it was meant to be sung..
Meaning, finally someone sang it the way JUSTIN sang it.

Guardian caught up with Demi Lovato in a Q&A, where the former ‘Sonny with a Chance’ star talked about the quality of her latest album ‘Demi’ vs her prior efforts, viewing getting older as a privilege, being the subject of multiple interventions, a possible childhood crush on the man inside the Barney the Dinosaur costume, being glad her Disney Channel chapter has closed, and wanting to form a girl group that included herself, Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift.

As for what advice she might give in the future if she had a 15-year-old daughter that said, “I want to be famous”, Demi responded, “When people say ‘I want to be famous – I want to be a star’, you have to ask: ‘What are your intentions? If you just want to be famous, make a sex tape.’ So what I’d say is, if you’re doing it because you want to be a respected actress or musician, follow your dream. If you just want paparazzi following you, rethink what’s going on in your little head. It’s crazy how people confuse the two nowadays.”

Demi Lovato's father Patrick Lovato has died

According to Demi Lovato’s sister Dallas, their biological father Patrick Lovato has died. Dallas Lovato told her Twitter followers (@dallaslovato) earlier today:

The tweet has led to “#BeliebersAreHereForYouDemi” and “#RIPPatrickLovato” to trend worldwide on the micro blogging site.

“She’s always been a star,” Patrick told ‘Inside Edition’ about his estranged daughter Demi. “I love my little daughter so much, if that’s what she wanted to do, that’s what I wanted her to do. I worried about the industry. I didn’t worry about Disney at all. I felt that her being with Disney was probably the best thing she could ever do. If you had a child, who would you want them to sign with? I mean Disney’s #1.”

Patrick told RadarOnline in 2011 that he wanted Demi to contact him as he battled cancer. “My health isn’t what it used to be and I know my daughter loves her daddy, so please call me Demi,” he pleaded at the time.

Demi said about the strained relationship with Patrick, “Sometimes there are people in your life that you have to cut out. It sucks when it’s your own father. But I know what’s best for me…I have an old soul, because I had to grow up fast, because of the public eye and because of my life experiences.”

Psy Denies Criticizing Demi Lovato

Psy checked in with his Twitter followers on Sunday (May 19) after hearing a rumor he wanted to stress was not true. Psy is set to co-host and perform at the MuchMusic Video Awards on June 16th, while Demi will perform at the event. The Korean recording artist told fans:
