Duran Duran Won’t Say Who ‘Falling Down’ Video Is About

Duran Duran, who worked with Justin Timberlake and Timbaland on their latest CD ‘Red Carpet Massacre’, spoke with CNN’s Denise Quan about the project. “There’s these rumors going around, aren’t there. Isn’t it fantastic,” singer Simon Le Bon said of the ‘Falling Down’ video’s similarity to Timberlake’s troubled ex Britney Spears. “I’d like to encourage [the rumors] completely. It is about somebody in the public eye, but I’m not saying exactly who.” Watch the clip via CNN.com below.

Duran Duran In Studio, Recording With Timberlake & Timbaland

ABC News caught up with Duran Duran, who enlisted the help of former *NSYNC star Justin Timberlake and his producer pal Timbaland on their thirteenth studio album ‘Red Carpet Massacre’, out Tuesday on Epic Records. The veteran British pop band talked about letting someone else in the driver’s seat on this project, how Timbaland was the only producer all the band members liked, and meeting Justin and Tim at awards shows, while Timberlake joked that working with Simon LeBon “has been pure fu**ing hell”. The video clip at abcnews.go.com has since been removed.

Speedy Timberlake Spurs Normally Slow Simon Le Bon

Simon Le Bon of Duran Duran spoke with The Mirror about working with former *NSYNC star Justin Timberlake for the veteran band’s new album. “Justin works so quickly. We are usually slow as snails and had to completely change the way we play. Especially me,” Le Bon remarked. “I had to come up with ideas very quickly on the microphone and have lyrics the next day - or that evening. We want to do more as the stuff so far is great.”

Britney Spears: One Of The Pioneers Of Pop Music

Contributed Anonymously:

It amazes me how many idiotic people out there think that Christina Aguilera will outlast Britney Spears. That is totally IMPOSSIBLE, since Britney Spears is already noted as one of Pop music’s greatest icons along with Madonna and Michael Jackson. Whilst Madonna paved the way for women in pop music and became a global icon, many respected musicologists recognize the fact that Britney Spears single handily brought back teen pop onto the music map. I mean, even Jessica Simpson admitted that it was because her record label wanted a next Britney she was signed with her record label. Now, do you here about people trying to be the next Christina? Nope. I mean, people are even asking,”who is going to be the next Britney Spears?” Lindsay? Hillary? Ashlee? My point is, Britney paved he way for teen pop, whilst Christina and Co. only followed. For 8 years Britney has managed to hold the public’s interest. I mean, she has over 16 million fan sites dedicated to her. Britney Spears was the one who introduced a certain term, before Britney this term was never used, it is: Pop PrincessMore than any other single artist, Britney Spears was the driving force behind the return of teen pop in the late ’90s.

Madonna To Be A Nasty Judge In Star-Search Program

October 10, 2004 - The Sun reports that Madonna is set to be a judge nastier than Simon Cowell in a star-search program to be fronted by hip-hop singer Missy Elliott. “She doesn’t suffer fools gladly. She will have no patience with the have-a-go heroes trying to make a name for themselves,” a source close to the Material Girl revealed. “If someone walks into the room the wrong way she’ll say ‘no’ before a note is sung and that will be their chance gone. She will reduce people to tears because she is so direct.”
