Jarred talked about his shock of being voted off, while Antonella said she knows what has been going on with the internet photo situation which she says was a betrayal and done against her consent, but has tried to avoid it.

Jeff Edelstein of the Trentonian offered a by the minute analysis of last night’s ‘American Idol’ as New Jersey’s own Antonella Barba learned her fate. Edelstein writes, “8:36: Nooooooo! Seacrest says, ‘Antonella, the journey ends for you tonight,’ and she immediately starts crying. Oh man. I wish she wouldn’t cry. It makes her human, and not a two-dimensional half-naked girl. This is very, very hard for me to deal with.”

In wake of the photo scandal involving ousted ‘American Idol’ semi-finalist Antonella Barba, Robert Thompson, a professor of television and popular culture at Syracuse University in New York, told the National Post cellphones that can take pictures, digital cameras and the rise of social networking sites on the Internet have forever changed the notion of what is private. “On one level, people should be aware of this very different environment when it comes to the notion of private,” he said. “We want to alert kids to the fact that every time an image gets taken of you on a cellphone, anytime you’re messing around and making a video, all of this stuff now has an automatic international distribution system.” Read more.

The Newark Star-Ledger weighed in on the news their local hero Antonella Barba’s run on ‘American Idol’ came to an end on Thursday night. The paper writes, “Antonella may not have liked the pictures’ unexpected release, but they quickly made her the most famous contestant this season. Between that notoriety, her looks, oodles of early screentime and the fervent support of VoteForTheWorst.com, she seemed to have enough going for her to advance to the finals at the expense of a better singer.”
SugarDVD, the largest renter of adult DVDs online, tells TMZ they’ve offered Antonella Barba a whopping $500,000 to become their new spokesperson. The same company offered $1 million to Kim Kardashian last month, which she refused. ‘Girls Gone Wild’ founder Joe Francis tells TMZ he has an offer for ‘American Idol’ season six semi-finalist Antonella Barba. “We have reached out to Antonella Barba through her family and are trying to reach her directly in order to offer her a hosting job for one of our upcoming video projects,” Francis said. “Just like the ‘American Idol’ judges, we at ‘Girls Gone Wild’ are looking for a girl next door, with sexiness, attitude, a carefree spirit and a presence that will command the attention of the nation.”
‘American Idol’ executive producer Nigel Lythgoe has fired back at ‘The View’ co-host Rosie O’Donnell over her charge that the show has a problem with obese or non-white contestants because Antonella Barba isn’t getting the boot this year for racy pictures while Frenchie Davis did in season two for porn images. “Without wishing to add to the obvious self-promotion of Ms. O’Donnell, I feel as though I must refute her absurd and ridiculous claims that ‘American Idol’ is racist and/or weightist,” Lythgoe said in a statement. “Ms. O’Donnell has, once again, spoken without thought or knowledge. Viewers need only look at the show tonight to realize that ‘American Idol’ constantly confirms to America that talent has nothing to do with weight or color.”
