Demi Lovato ‘Neon Lights’ Video Behind The Scenes

Demi Lovato 'Neon Lights' music video behind the scenes

Demi Lovato is out with behind the scenes footage from the shooting of her ‘Neon Lights’ music video, featuring commentary from makeup artist Jill Powell, though no words from Demi herself.

“The concept and treatment for the video was actually Demi’s idea,” Powell explained. “I was with her one day when she all of the sudden said, ‘I know what I want to do with my ‘Neon Lights’ video’, and started pulling up images and we were looking through them together and that’s when the excitement really started, so when we were on set today and doing the makeup, it was just so much fun. It’s kind of a club/party atmosphere. It was just really a cool vibe.”

Demi Lovato ‘Neon Lights’ Video

Demi Lovato 'Neon Lights' music video

Demi Lovato is out with the music video to her latest single ‘Neon Lights’, the third release off the American pop singer’s self-titled fourth studio album ‘Demi’, out now on Hollywood Records. The Ryan Pallotta directed video features plenty of neon.

Producer Ryan Tedder spoke with the UK’s Capital FM about the song and the vocals delivered by the singer and actress. “She came in and just ripped it,” Tedder said. “She in pop music has one of the biggest ranges, possibly the highest full voice singer I’ve ever worked with. She can belt full voice like three octaves above middle C, it’s just crazy, and with complete power and complete control. At the beginning she’s singing the lowest note she’s ever done and by the end she’s going as high as she’s ever gone.”

Demi Lovato Upset With Lady Gaga Over SXSW “Vomit Art”

Demi Lovato headphones

Demi Lovato reacted strongly on Twitter (@ddlovato) to the Lady Gaga performance at SXSW on Thursday night at Stubb’s BBQ, where the singer was vomited on by friend and “vomit painter” Millie Brown, who drank a bottle of neon green liquid before forcing herself to throw up on the Gaga while she played drums. Demi interpreted the stunt in poor taste in regards to eating disorders, writing on the micro blogging site:

Sad… As if we didn’t have enough people glamorizing eat disorders already. Bottom line, it’s not “cool” or “artsy” at all.

Would you let someone bring a needle and shoot up on you? Addiction is addiction.

It’s not “shade” and it’s not “hate”. But someone has to come forward and say it and I’ll take the heat for it.

@ladygaga you’re SO talented, if not one of the most talented in our industry PERIOD. Dope is INCREDIBLE.. but you don’t have to do that

So it’s cool if I do a speech about self-harm and then proceed to watch someone cut themselves on my stage? No. That doesn’t make it OKAY RT @kingsleyyy: @ddlovato Gaga herself struggled with an eating disorder. She gave a moving speech BEFORE her performance & I highly doubt her intention

Putting the word ART in it isn’t a free card to do whatever you want without consequences. RT @kingsleyyy: @ddlovato That wasn’t the POINT! The girl was an ARTIST

That’s an ignorant thing to say and you clearly don’t know anything about mental illnesses or addiction. RT @kingsleyyy: @ddlovato And you know comparing self-harm to this situation doesn’t even make sense. Accusing someone of “glamorizing” something they struggled with is WRONG.

Activists don’t shut up. If no one raises their voice, how are we supposed to be heard?

Watch the vomiting incident below.

Kina Grannis 'Elements' album cover

Kina Grannis is set to release her second album ‘Elements’ on May 6th via her Kina Grannis Music imprint, distributed through The Orchard. ‘Elements’ was produced and recorded by Matt Hales (aka Aqualung), and showcases Kina’s more mature sound. Hales’ recent credits include work with Lianne La Havas, Alex Clare and Paloma Faith. Kina commented on the new project:

In making this album I confronted a lot of things that, in the past, I would have run away from. It was a process that ultimately helped me create a collection of songs that I feel more deeply connected to than any I’ve written before and I’m beyond excited to have the opportunity to share this journey with all of my fans.

Sky Ferreira Hospitalized After Concert Fall

Sky Ferreira injury

Sky Ferreira checked in with fans on Twitter (@skyferreira) moments ago, talking about her injury the previous night while performing as an opening act for Miley Cyrus at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. The 21-year-old singer, touring in support of her debut studio album ‘Night Time, My Time’, writes:

I fell during the intro of the 1st song of the set. I ended up with 60 stitches & at the hospital for 7 hours. I didn’t even notice the injury until 10 mins after I played because I had so much fun. I just figured it was some blood. I’m so excited to do the LA show tomorrow (despite the not so cool bandage around my leg). Thanks @mileycyrus for having me. Love u xoxoxo #ThePowerOfAdrenalin

Biggest thank you 2 @grant_singer for staying with me the entire night & taking care of everything. For real for real.
